Joe LaMay is a talented graphic designer known for his innovative and impactful visual solutions. With a background in design and a passion for creativity, Joe has developed a diverse portfolio that spans branding, digital design, and print media. He is recognized for his ability to combine artistic vision with strategic thinking, producing designs that not only look great but also communicate messages effectively. "Since 1998, I have been performing tradtional and original folk and bluegrass in the duo LaMay & Reese. Before that, I was a solo singer/songwriter for several years. In 1986, I started the indie songwriter label - Local Folkel Records (1986-1991) - and that is when I began designing album graphics and CD packaging. My graphic design career started in the 1970's in package design, where I developed graphics for large and small business, including Eastman Kodak, Xerox, French's Mustard, and more. From there I moved into advertising design and started LaMay Design in 1981. I began designing album graphics and CD packaging when I was the owner of Local Folkel Records in the late 1980's. Through word-of-mouth, I started designing for other musicians, labels, and duplicating services, such as Oasis Disc Manufacturing. I have designed CD packaging and promotional materials for high profile artists such as Garth Hudson (The Band), Matt Morris, and others - as well as touring folk and roots musicians like Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Leslie Ritter & Scott Petito, Douglas Clegg, Pat Maloney, The Dady Brothers, Bernice Lewis, and more. The December 2001 issue of Performing Songwriter featured me in an article on "From Design to Duplication of Your CD". Music and design are my life, and I know what it takes to produce graphics and packaging that will get noticed and will please both the consumer and the DJ's. I'm easy to work with and my prices are musician friendly. I work with clients over the internet and with printers and duplicators directly - so there's no guess work. Give me a call or drop me a line. I know we can work together." In harmony, Joe LaMay
