People of Pisgah making a difference.

In the Spring of 2007, the idea of selling homemade jams under the “Pisgah Schoolhouse Pickin’ Jam” label as a fundraiser for the Pisgah Presbyterian Church outreach programs was suggested. Arrangements were made with a local supplier, sales have been steady, and reviews of the jam have been ecstatic. Flavors available are Strawberry, Blackberry, Red Raspberry, Black Raspberry and Blueberry. All jams have no sugar added and all are seedless.

Pisgah Schoolhouse will give a 16 oz. jar of Pisgah "Pickin' Jam" of choice to each person making a donation of $5.00 to help support the great work being accomplished by P.E.R.M (Pulaski Emergency Relief Ministry), Gods Food Pantry, and Gods Helping Hands. To receive your free jar of Pisgah Schoolhouse “Pickin Jam”, just donate $5.00 to any member of the Pisgah Schoolhouse Jammers, or you can call Carl at 606-677-2906, or stop by the Pickin' Jam any Tuesday night between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Carl can also arrange to meet you at the Old Pisgah Schoolhouse where you can pick up your Jam and receive a tour of the historical schoolhouse.

P.E.R.M (Pulaski Emergency Relief Ministry) is a cooperative venture of churches and institutions united to minister to the emergency human needs in our community. An emergency is defined as an unforeseen situation where personal resources have been exhausted thereby requiring immediate financial support. Financial resource assistance is offered primarily in the areas of medicine and shelter needs. Checks are given directly to the vendor not the client. Aid from the ministry may help pay either utilities, deposits, rent, or a prescription, but is not limited to these areas. Churches receiving requests for assistance in these areas of need refer people to P.E.R.M. The ministry’s office thus becomes a clearing center and duplication of assistance is eliminated.
