LaMAY & REESE IN 6TH YEAR ON THE BLUEGRASS RAMBLE SHOW!
JOE & SHERRI are now in their 6th year as featured contributors to Bill Knowlton's Bluegrass Ramble radio show (now in it's 38th year). On the first Sunday of each month, they present a 15 - 20 minute segment of down-home music recorded "live" in concert or at informal music gatherings in their cabin home . Be sure to tune in and catch up on their latest music projects and listen to some great musicians from their Kentucky/Tennessee home area.

NEW CD AVAILABLE!
LaMAY & REESE's 4th CD - I've Got a Friend There Songs in the Gospel Tradition, is available. This fine collection of songs will make the many fans who have requested a Gospel CD from Joe and Sherri happy. It's a long awaited chance for them to record some of their favorite "gospel tradition" songs. Click here for song samples.

JOE'S SONG "ROLLIN' HILLS OF MEXICO" FEATURED IN QUILL AND PARCHMENT!
The May 2006 issue of Quill and Parchment, an online literary e-zine, included Rollin' Hills of Mexico - a song Joe wrote in 1978.Q&P Editor-in-Chief, Sharmagne Leland St. John, came across the song on the internet and has asked Joe if she "may reprint your most beautiful song lyrics". Sharmagne states: " I strongly believe poetry is just songs without music!".

JOE FEATURED IN PERFORMING SONGWRITER MAGAZINE
The December 2001 issue of Performing Songwriter Magazine featured comments and insights by Joe in an article - written by Bill Parsons - titled Post-Production The Red-haired Stepchild of Creating a Retail-ready CD - focusing on post-production, which includes mastering, graphic design and duplication. Of course Joe comments on the graphic design process.

LaMAY & REESE ADDED TO KENTUCKY ARTS COUNCIL PERFORMING ARTS DIRECTORY
The Kentucky Arts Council has accepted JOE LaMAY & SHERRI REESE of as one of eight performing artists and groups to be added to its Kentucky Arts Council Performing Arts Directory, an adjudicated roster of performing artists. The directory aids in marketing and promoting Kentucky's performing artists to presenters and performance venues across the nation. Additionally, the Kentucky Arts Council books performers from the directory in various state-sponsored venues throughout the year.
Acceptance into the Performing Arts Directory is based on artistic excellence, performance experience and marketing capacity, as judged by an independent panel of performing arts professionals. There are currently 92 individual artists or groups participating in the Performing Arts Directory program.
The Kentucky Arts Council is a state agency in the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet that creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

LaMAY & REESE ADDED TO SOUTHERN ARTISTRY!
LaMAY & REESE were nominated and chosen for inclusion on the Southern Artistry directory. SouthernArtistry.org is an online artist registry designed to showcase the South's artistic diversity and excellence by spotlighting outstanding artists of all disciplines that live and work in the region. These artists are nominated based on the quality of their work by state arts agencies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

"THE OLD MAN HAS GONE" INCLUDED ON CENTRAL KY MUSICIANS COMPILATION CD!
LaMAY & REESE's original song The Old Man Has Gone - written in memory of Bill Monroe - is one of thirteen songs chosen for inclusion on a CD of Central Kentucky musicians. The September 2009 release is a project of citizensCREATE!, a regional arts organization located in Lexington, KY. Click here for purchase info.

"SINGING JUST FOR FRIENDS" ON THE DADY BROTHERS "SONGS OF THE ERIE CANAL" CD!
The CD, a companion to the book Erie Canal Legacy: Architectural Treasures of the Empire State published by the Landmark Society of Western New York, features all traditional songs with the exception of Joe's Singing Just for Friends, and another composed by Joe Dady and Mike Pavone. The song was written in 1987 as the title song for The Bushnell's Basin Delegation's album Singing Just For Friends. Joe recorded it on his Behind The Wheel cassette in 1991.

MORE SONGS COVERED!
 The Atkinson Family (out of Harrisville, NY) has included Joe's song - Marbletown - and Sherri & Joe's Mama, Put Down That Picture on their Tearin' Up The Line CD, and Joe's song Maryville on their Listen to the Radio CD. They're both great albums and you ought to check 'em out!
The Mystery Mountain Boys have recorded Joe's Name on a Stone (Anna) on their Appalachian Homecoming CD. Good down-home music from Tony Thomas with Cline and Elmer Phillips!
